Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse’s Record
Admittedly, Bugatti had a bad last week, ‘World’s Fastest Car’ title stripped by Guinness on the basis of hidden performance packages installed for top speed test. But, what would be a good way to bounce back after that hit? We guess, make another record to keep the score even. The record we are talking about is the one set by Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, which was recently driven to a top speed of 254 mph on the Volkswagen Group’s Ehra-Lessien test track.
Bugatti Veyron no more the ‘World’s Fastest Car’
Bugatti Veyron fans we have a bad news for you, your favorite Bugatti Veyron Super Sports isn’t the ‘World’s Fastest Car’ anymore. The title given to Bugatti Veyron in 2010 is stripped away by Guinness on the note that, the record setting version isn’t mechanically identical to the version sold to customers. If not Bugatti than automatically the title shifts to the next in line ‘Hennessey Venom GT’. Venom GT is surely fast, but a little bit slower than the Veyron Super Sports when unleashed. Veyron Super Sports hit the milestone of 267.8 mph in an episode of Top Gear, while the Venom GT lies little below at 265.7 mph. But, the road version is fitted with an electron speed limiter which restricts the Veyron SS at 258 mph.

Bugatti is very well known for their amazing Supercar Bugatti Veyron, but we always see Bugatti in the search of something more. Every year we see a lots of Concepts from Bugatti, which shows they like to experiment and extend their line-up. This time we have came across another concept which is named Bugatti Gangloff. This particular concept is the creation of Pawel Czyzewski, who tried to blend the class of one-off 1938 Type 57 SC Atalante Coupe with the muscularity of latest Veyron.

Bugatti Galibier 16.C
Bugatti’s Sedan— The Most Powerful!
Celebrating the 100 years of automotive excellence, Bugatti is on for giving a different kind of personality to the marque but the soul of this colossal brand stays, and the soul is power. The latest expected offering of Bugatti is considered to be a homage for Bugatti’s one of the finest cars, the Type 57. It is called the Bugatti Galibier 16C, named after an Alpine mountain pass called Col du Galibier. It is estimated to be the fastest sedan ever produced. Since it comes from Bugatti, the power ratings more than anywhere near expectations is pretty normal. But why not see the car first so that the minds are ready to be baffled by the staggering stats.
Coming towards the specs, delivering numbers is not a problem for Bugattis.
Vehicle Type: Four-door luxury sedan
Base Price: nearly $ 1.5 million USD
Engine: 8.0 litre W16—Twin Supercharged
Power: 800+ hp (approximately)
Drive Line: Four-wheel drive/front-mounted engine
Transmission: Eight-speed automatic gearbox
Acceleration 0— 60 mph: sub 3 seconds
Top Speed: almost 390 km/h (242 mph)
Production Expected: 2013
The engine is bequeathed by Bugatti Veyron; the rampant 987 hp beast which was quad-turbocharged in Veyron will now be running smoothly on two superchargers. The HP gauge in the car is marked up to more than 800 hp and speedo shoots up to 390 km/h.
This car has a rather practical approach yet the DNA of power is instinctive. Let’s explore the sedan things in this car. It has got a spacious boot, spacious interior and hell a lot of power. Don’t be fooled though of its shape, it is a well 16-feet long sedan.
The exterior styling takes inspiration from TYPE 57 like the central ridge almost all over the car but there are some other design innovations too. The engine is hidden under a butterfly-hood which is an ultimate show off for the beast laying in the bonnet. The polished aluminium in body work adds life to it. There are quadruple exhausts on each side in the back which look a bit excessive.
Interior is a real luxury place with extensive adornment with finest and softest leather and maple-wood veneers finished like glass. Entertainment systems, beautification, simplicity and elegance have been earned by hard work in the interior. A Reverso Tourbillion, especially developed Swiss clock, can be an ornament of the car or can instill more grace to your wrist as a watch.
Bugatti Galibier 16C is claimed by the company to be one of the very finest, powerful, luxurious, breath-taking and reliable sedans to ever see the market.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
The Majestic Legend is back on Top!
Bugatti Veyron- the legendary record holder with a top speed of 253 mph was put down by the SSC Ultimate Aero which topped out at 256 mph. So, it was the time for revival of this legend. The Bugatti engineers did the trick and the splendor is back….
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was tested at Ehra-Lessien track—the Volks Wagon’s secret test driving facility which is a 30 miles long track with a 5.5 miles aero straight stretch. The fabulous car pushed the world record for fastest production car a staggering 24 km/h ahead, making it flat out a ballistic 267 mph! And now it holds the record for the world’s fastest production car.

[ $ 2.58 million]

Highway: 14.9 l/100 km
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport houses the same 8.0 l W16 configuration engine that powered the previous Veyron, so the question is that where does that extra blistering 200 horses come from. They are a result of better gear box, lighter body, bigger and more powerful turbo chargers and bigger intercoolers.
It is the extreme version of Bugatti Veyron, and it speaks out what it is. The car chassis is monocoque carbon-fiber which provides strength and rigidity to chassis. Moreover the weight of car is reduced by 50 kg. The aerodynamic features have been enhanced too. Suspension is more firm and stiffer anti-roll bars have been used. Thus the car is more agile in the corners and stable as well. It can give a lateral acceleration up to 1.4 G due to enhanced interaction of the sharp 4-wheel drive system and tyres.
Top Speed Run:
The speed run was made on July 4, 2010 on the Ehra-Lessien track by the Bugatti’s official test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel who is a former French racing driver. To bring it to the Guinness Book of World Records, two runs were to be made in opposite direction and the average was to be calculated.
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport made an average of savage 431.072 km/h (267.856 mph). The top speed at the first run was 427.93 km/h (265.90 mph) and the maximum speed attained in the second run was 434.20 km/h (269.8 mph). Thus Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport was titled as the fastest production car in the world. Bugatti took back the record from SSC Ultimate Aero TT.
At the top speed, car was stable and it was drinking the gas at 1.7gal/min and the rampant engine was inhaling 1 tonne of air in 15 minutes.
Exterior:
The aerodynamics of Super Sport version is improved and the body is light, but still rigid enough to ensure safety from torsion at higher speeds. This balanced body of Veyron Super Sport is all carbon-fiber body with more aggressive and sporty looks. However, if you are interested, Bugatti can provide you a Super Sport with 100% clear-lacquered carbon fiber body.
The record-breaking version was black and orange.
The front has minor changes. The air intakes have been enlarged and reshaped to cool down the beast. The lower intake runs in sides of the front lip to wheel arch. The lights are very attractive.
The two air-intakes for massive W16 are now on the roof rather than over the engine scoops for improved aerodynamic properties. Sides are still beautiful and sporty. The signature rear lights of Veyron and the Bugatti’s logo of Ettore Bugatti’s initials stay at the rear.
Rear is very interesting and mean due to double diffuser and a ferocious looking dual-tunnel exhaust system which is present in the center below the massive grills for cooling the engine.
Interior:
Bugatti is one of the very few car-manufacturers who do not sacrifice the comfort and entertainment systems for the sake of weight losses. So here again you get leather seats and console, beautifully stitched. There is carbon fiber on the instrument panel and door panels. Stereo and air-conditioning are also there.
Cons:
W16 drinks too much gas that it can drink 1.7gal/min at the top speed.
It produces too much CO2 in the atmosphere.
The temperature in its trunk may rise up to 50oC which may be harmful.
Pros:
This brilliant car has performance and feeling like no other.
Veyron Super Sport has not lost its character and soul it is famous for.
The interior is comfortable with stereo and air-conditioning not compromised.
It is even more stable and agile through corners than its elder brother.
Design is sportier and more aggressive which matches the character of this version.
Safety concerns have been well-addressed.
Competitors:
Koenigsegg Agera R
SSC Ultimate Aero TT
SSC Ultimate Aero 2 — Tuatara
Verdict:
The progress in speed with this much leap is certainly jaw-dropping. Engineers are hopeful for even better results but it is commendable about Bugatti that they are keeping in view the safety as well as they don’t make the car boring by snatching stereo and a/c from it. They say, “It is the climax of Bugatti Veyron 16.4!”—well it sure is a climax of car performance to date.
